Christmas 2013 Newsletter

Dear all,

On this beautiful, sunny, crisp December day, I’d like to wish you all a wonderful Winter Solstice, a very Merry Christmas, and a fabulous New Year!

I realised today that I omitted my 2 day basket workshop in June from the list of willow dates that I sent out recently. It will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June 2014. The 2 day basket workshop in January is now nearly full, and the June course will be the next weekend one on offer.

Also, I’d like to let you know that I am looking for help with harvesting willow this winter. Ideally I would like someone who would like to be paid for this on a regular basis throughout January and February, and possibly into early March. You would need to be a fairly hardy sort, with warm work clothes and ideally your own transport, though the willow beds are situated just off the main road (A1307) in Abington which is served by the no13 bus from Cambridge to Haverhill which runs every half an hour during the day. Though working outside in winter is not everyone’s cup of tea, it can be very rewarding cutting, sorting and bundling the gloriously coloured willow, surrounded by bird song - the willow beds seem to support a lot of wildlife. If you fancy it yourself or know someone that might be interested, then please do get in touch and I’ll tell you more about it.

Warmest of wishes,

Debbie
